Subject: PERMISSION NEEDED TO CONTINUE!!!

Hello,

I am currently working on a project that you might object to. It will
give your opponents assembly shell (ASH) a run for its money...and maybe
yours too. The project I speak of will bring together the two different
shells for the 82 (ASH and O-Shell82). This will stop the arguments over
which shell is better to use. Currently you have a lot going for you...but
your opponents already have a lot of programs made and if this succeeds,
all those programs and any future ones will be able to be quickly
translated for O-Shell82.
Now, before I can continue working on this project, I will need two
things: the first is permission to continue, and the other is that you
will be available to answer any questions I have via e-mail.

TIA,
Thomas J. Hruska

Here is my exact response, which I sent one day after receiving his message.
I won't give any permission until I know exactly what it is you are
talking about. If you are simply talking about a program which will
"translate" a program from the ash format into the OShell-82 format,
that may be alright for you to do. I hope you realize that if you do
that you will have to program your translator to modify all of the
addresses, absolute jumps, and relative jumps, which will not be an
easy task, and it will encounter problems when some relative jumps
exceed the 127-byte limit. But, if that isn't what your project is,
just write back and tell me in more detail.

Like I said, I'm still not sure what this project is, so I am not
giving any permission until I know more about it. Please write back
and explain further.

Thanks for your consideration,
Jason Todd
