==============================================================================
CHAPTER 1: THE PROPHECY ==============================================================================
Crono looked at Marle. Marle looked back at Crono and made a face. They both giggled.

"Sir Crono," The king interrupted the two, "do you have something to say?"

Crono shook his head.

"OK, good. Now back to the meeting." The king ushered the chancellor to continue.

"The way I see it," the chancellor started his speech again, "if Guardia and the other blah blah blah, blah blah." The chancellor rambled on.

"Thank you chancellor. Anyone have any closing remarks?" The king asked the group.

The group shook their heads no.

"OK, meeting adjourned!" The king gave a good whack to the gavel.

Both Crono and Marle ran out of the meeting hall. They ran straight out of the castle and began to walk through Guardia's forest. They were planning to meet Lucca at her house.

"Geez, how boring!" Crono exclaimed to Marle as they walked through the forest.

"Yeah, those Royal meetings stink." Marle nodded her head in agreement. "I can't believe Daddy wants us to go to those things."

They finally arrived at Lucca's house. Taban and Lara were busying staying at a friends house, so Lucca had the house all to herself. They found her staring in front of one of her monitors. She had the expression like she had seen a two-headed imp.

Crono noticed first. "Hey Lucca, what's up? You look like you've seen a two-headed imp."

She stared back at the two. "Look at this! I'm sitting here reading the output statistics and this came on the screen!" She said as turned the screen back to them.

Crono and Marle read what it said outloud.

Both Crono and Marle were silent. They stared at each other and what the words had meant.

MEANWHILE, SOMEWHERE ELSE IN THE UNIVERSE.

BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG! Sabin lowered the rifle and went over to the target that was full of holes. He took it down and picked up and pinned up a new one.

Edgar, his brother, came riding on a Chocobo. "Sabin!" he exclaimed. "How's target practice?"

Sabin walked back and stood behind the bale of hay once again. "One-thousand, five-hundred, fifty points. I think I'm getting better."

It was tradition that Figaro family learn how to shoot rifles with accuracy. Sabin didn't want to be any different.

Edgar giggled at the number.

"Hey, I'm still learning!" Sabin retorted to his brothers laughter.

"Right. Anyway, dinner will be in a couple of minutes. I knew you wouldn't want to miss dinner." Edgar told Sabin as he reloaded the rifle.

Sabin placed the rifle on the bale of hay. "What's for dinner?" He asked.

"For you, the castle." Edgar laughed at his own joke.

Sabin put his brother in a head lock. "You're so funny, ya know that, Big brother!"

Edgar elbowed him in the chest, forcing Sabin to let him go. "Yes, actually, I do. Tonight's dinner is meatloaf. Oh and Sabin?"

"Yes?" Sabin asked still a bit winded from the elbow.

Edgar grabbed the rifle tossed it up with one hand, and caught it with the other. He raised it up and pointed it to the target. BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG! went the rifle. Edgar placed the rifle on the bale of hay and mounted the chocobo.

As Edgar rode off, he could hear Sabin curse as he yelled "Four-thousand points!" Edgar giggled to himself.

Edgar arrived back at Figaro castle, and paid the chocobo owner, though he had a tough time in doing so, saying that he couldn't take money from the king and so forth.

On his way to the dinner hall, the chancellor caught up with him. He was carrying a scroll.

"Sir, this just arrived by carrier pigeon!" He handed the scroll over to Edgar.

"Thank you chancellor." Edgar said to the chancellor. He opened up the scroll and read it's contents to himself.

"Chancellor! Send a note to Terra, Locke, Celes, Mog, Strago, and the others. Tell them I want them at Figaro immediately!" Edgar ordered the chancellor.

MEANWHILE, SOMEWHERE ELSE.

"Your highness," the knight captain said, "we've just finished the Mt. Ordeals expedition. There was no sign of him."

Cecil frowned. "Are you sure? You checked every little cavern and went all the way to the peak?

"Sir, I'm positive. There's no sign of him." The knight captain told a very unhappy Cecil.

"Thank you. You may go now." Cecil told the captain.

The captain bowed once more and left Cecil alone in the throne room. There was one more expedition team, though he was pretty sure that cave Magnes was empty since the Dark Elf incident.

That evening, Cecil stared into the starry expanse of the night on the balcony. His search parties had been useless. They searched everywhere for Kain for the past year, and no trace of him. Cecil had feared the worst for Kain, but something inside of him knew that Kain wouldn't be dead. Kain was stronger than that.

Rosa came onto the balcony. "Honey, come on, it's late. get to bed, you need your rest!"

Cecil sighed as he walked behind Rosa. They both went under the blankets, Rosa fell asleep instantly, but Cecil had trouble getting to sleep. All he could think about was his best friend, and what trouble he might be in. Cecil worried himself to sleep.

The next morning, Cecil and Rosa was eating breakfast, when Cid barged in the room. He was carrying a heavy piece of rock.

"Sorry to interrupt." Cid said. He was out of breath.

"Nonsense. You know you're always welcome here, Cid." Rosa told him.

"What's the matter?" Cecil asked. "You look like you've seen a three-headed behemoth."

"Well," Cid began, "It all started when my excavation team was exploring Mist cave. Well, upon an old bomb site, we found this inscription. The strange thing is, there was nothing inscribed on the wall before when we first bombed the area. I chiseled it out for you to read." Cid let go of the massive rock, which landed on the table with a "thump."

Cecil and Rosa read the inscription to themselves.

"Cid, make a copy of this at once. Send it to the Mysidia..." Cecil began.

"I'm no one's secretary. I've got to get back to work!" Cid said as he ran out of the room.

Cecil jumped out of his chair in anger. "Cid!" He shouted. "Get back here!" Too late. Cid was out of yelling range; but, luckily, the chancellor came running in.

"Is there something the matter, sir?" the chancellor asked.

"Copy this inscription on to some parchment. Send it to Mysidia with a note from me about if they know anything about these words or other words that they've heard that sound like this." Cecil commanded the chancellor.

"At once sir!" The chancellor said, grabbing the stone and running out of the room. ==============================================================================
CHAPTER 2: EVIL MACHINATIONS ==============================================================================
On a planet, not to far, chemicals begin to mix. Immense heat begins to boil. Enzymes begin to collide. It grows. It is little at first, but it continues to grow. Not only physically, but mentally, as well. It gains more power as the elements begin to infuse it. With the help of wind, fire, earth, and water, it is finished. It begins to drain resources from the planet it is living on, laughing demonically. ==============================================================================
CHAPTER 3: TRANSLATION ==============================================================================
Cecil, Rydia, Edge, and Rosa were trying to keep up with the Mysidian wizards.

"No," a white mage said to a black mage, "it's talking about how Zemus is going to come back and haunt us all!"

"No," another black mage said to that white mage, "It's saying how were going to stop evil on our planet for once and for all!"

The four looked at each other and sighed. It was obvious that they had no idea what was going on.

"Locke! Calm down!" Edgar yelled at Locke. "It doesn't mean we have to do anything."

Locke was annoyed that Kefka might come back. "Look, we killed Kefka. OK? It just isn't possible! I don't want to have to do that again!"

Cyan interrupted the two. "Forgive me, sirs, for barging in. But I say that this letter is nothing more than a childish prank. I think thou is taking this a bit to seriously."

Celes nodded her head in agreement.

"In all of my eighty years," Strago began, "I have never heard of such a poem. I, too, think that it is just a hoax."

"Than it's agreed?" Edgar asked the council. "This nothing more than a childish prank?"

A chorus of "yes" followed.

"OK, then. Meeting adjourned." Edgar told the council. Though something left him, incomplete. He felt that this letter was more than just a silly prank, but how would he prove it?

On the other hand, Crono and Marle were getting somewhere.

"The royal records show," the chancellor began, "in the year 200 A.D., King Guardia the V had a nightmare involving these words at the end. He remembered them to a tee.

Crono and Marle left the meeting hall, even though it was over. They both jumped in the Epoch. Marle set the time gauge at 200 A.D. and Crono hit the gas. They were going to find out what exactly this nightmare was all about. ==============================================================================
CHAPTER 4: INVASION ==============================================================================
Sabin was back at the target practice area. He was shooting a perfect score when the sky suddenly became filled with dark clouds. There was a thunderclap, and rain began to stream from the heavens. Sabin put the rifle in the chocobo's gear bag and began to ride through the rain. The rain was making the sand hard, so the chocobo was able to run faster.

When Sabin got back to the castle, there was monsters all around the castle. He could also see the castle guards trying to fend off the monsters, but they were losing. Sabin jumped off his chocobo and took out the rifle. He reloaded it and ran into the fray.

A monster that he had never seen before lunged at him. He shot it, and fell to the ground in pain. Another monster, right next to it, tried to cast a curative spell, but it was unsuccessful, since magic no longer works. Sabin shot that monster too.

Inside the castle, Edgar was slaying the monsters in the throne room. Since it was raining out, they weren't able to submerge the castle.

"Drat!" Edgar cursed to himself as his sword slashed another monster. "These things are everywhere, and we can't submerge!"

Another monster pounced on Edgar's back. It ripped off his cape. Edgar gave it a good slash.

Luckily, Setzer was on his airship on his was to Jidoor when he noticed that Figaro castle was swarming with monsters. He landed the airship and began to throw his razor-sharp cards at the monsters. He was about to throw one right into Sabin, but luckily, he stopped himself in time.

"Setzer!" Sabin said as he shot his final cartridge. "Good think you've come!" Sabin took the claws out of his pocket and put them on, now slashing any monster that came too close.

"Yeah, these airships are good for something!" Setzer laughed as he tossed another card.

Inside, Edgar wasn't doing to well. More monsters appeared from the shadows. One bit Edgar on the neck. Edgar fell to the ground, poisoned.

"We've got their leader!" one monster shrieked. "Quick! Stop the rain and submerge!"

Outside, the monsters retreated into the castle. Sabin and Setzer began to chase after them, but the castle shook.

The castle submerged into the sand.

Setzer and Sabin starred at each other for a minute. Setzer said, "Quick! Onto the airship! Me must tell the others!" Sabin and Setzer ran to the airship. ==============================================================================
CHAPTER 5: HOSTAGES ==============================================================================
Cecil, Rydia, Edge, and Rosa were still listening to the Mysidians argue.

"OK, so we figured out that Zemus is coming back, to end the world, destroy life as we know it, and grow flowers in his garden." The elder said.

Cecil heard a shout. "Cecil!!!" He looked around.

"Honey, you ok?" Rosa asked.

"Didn't you hear that?" Cecil asked.

"Cecil!!!" There was a shout again.

"There! Again!" Cecil shouted. Everyone stopped talking and looked at him.

"It's me, Kain! I'm in trouble. I'm in the Adamant cave. Please hurry!" The voice said, sounding like that of Kain.

"Well!" Cecil shouted. "Come on! What are you waiting for? Let's go!"

Cecil ran outside of the castle, and onto the airship. He started up all the motors, then realized he was the only one. Rosa, Rydia, and Edge climbed onto the airship.

"Cecil!" Edge slapped him. "Wake up!"

"Kain's in danger. We've got to go to the Adamant cave." Cecil told Edge and the others.

"And how do you know that?" Rydia asked.

"He told me so!" Cecil said as they flew.

The other three looked at each other. They were all thinking the same thing. Cecil was nuts.

The airship was flying as fast as it could. Finally, the airship reached the cave where Cecil and friends had gotten several pieces of the legendary adamant stone, but now, this was different. Cecil left all of the motor's running as the ran off the ship. Rosa and Rydia following them, leaving Edge to turn off all the motors.

"Kain!" Cecil shouted at the top of his lungs. His echo was heard through the cave. "Kain!" He shouted again and began to look around.

Rosa and Rydia did nothing but stare at Cecil.

Cecil went to the other side of the hill in the cave. As he turned the corner, he saw a greenish-blue figure out of the corner of his eye. Upon further examination, he noticed that the figure was actually dragoon-armor. Cecil ran over to it, and saw his old friend chained to the side of the mountain. There was was several, deep claws marks gashed on the said of Kain's face. Kain looked the same, except for the newly added goatee on his face.

"Rosa! Rydia! Edge! Come quickly! I've found Kain!" Cecil shouted.

No response.

Cecil ran to the other side. There was no one there. Then, suddenly, out of nowhere, what seemed to be a wisp of wind clawed Cecil right in the face. Cecil drew his sword. ==============================================================================
CHAPTER 6: THE DEMON SOCIETY ==============================================================================
Crono and Marle landed the epoch right next to Guardia castle. Marle was about to enter the castle when Crono stopped her, he lead her behind a bush.

"Wait! We can't just barge into the castle! We'll be throw in jail for sure!" Crono whispered to Marle.

"Well, how are we going to ask the king?" Marle asked Crono.

"Ask the king what?" A voice said from high above.

Crono and Marle looked up. There sat a man, dressed in king's garments on the Castle balcony. It had to be King Guardia. They were both speechless.

"Well?" The king continued. "Ask the king what?"

"Uh... King Guardia?" Crono asked.

"You've found the right man." The king said to the two. He let down a rope. "But, please, enter this way."

Crono and Marle began to climb the rope. Upon reaching the balcony, Marle asked the king, "Why do we have to enter this way? Can't we just come up through the castle?"

"I wish you could." The king replied. "But I've been getting death threats. It's so good to be able to talk to someone who isn't a member of the palace."

Crono fell over into the balcony. "Death threats? From whom?"

"The Demon Society." The king answered. "They've been haunting me with letters, magic, and nightmares."

"Really?" asked Marle. "Do continue."

"Not until you tell me who you are." Guardia asked.

Crono looked at Marle. He gave her that, "should-we-tell-him-that-we're-from-the-future" look. Marle nodded her head.

And so Crono told the story about the future and Guardia castle and Lavos and the epoch and the end of time and their friends.

"My, what a fascinating story!" The king told the two.

"Yes, but please, tell us about this Demon society and the death threats.

"There's this group of people out there calling themselves the demon society." The king began his story. "They have sacrifices, cast evil magic, praise evil gods, the like. They've been threatening me with letters and the such. I have them here if you want to see them.

"You keep letters that threaten your death?" Crono asked, puzzled.

"Yeah, it's the only thing I have to read in the guest room. They keep me here just in case they decide to invade the castle." The king told the two.

The king handed Crono and Marle a letter. Written in blood, it said the following:

WE ARE THE DEMON SOCIETY AND OUR CREATION IS COMING
IT WILL KILL MANY PLANETS, AND MUTILATE MANY PEOPLE
IT SHALL USE THE LIGHT AND THE DARK
WE SHALL KILL THE KING, AND TOIL THE PLANET
MAKING IT AN EASY SACRIFICE

Crono looked at Marle.

"You had a question for me?" the king asked the two.

Crono remembered the whole reason why they came back to the past in the first place. "History has told us that you also had some sort of dream?"

"Yes, it came right after the nightmares began." The king began to dictate the poem to them. "After that flashed, I began to see some people, and, to come to think of it. One looked exactly like you!" The king pointed to Crono. ==============================================================================
CHAPTER 7: BATTLE AT ADAMANT CAVE ==============================================================================
Cecil tried his best to slash the wind, but it kept was going so fast it kept clawing him. Cecil tried his best to chase after the blur, but it was running way to fast for Cecil to catch up with.

Cecil was growing tired and losing a lot of blood. The wind-gust was about to strike it one final time when a metal implement of some kind hit the gust of wind, slowing it down.

It was Edge throwing a ninja star.

"That's the last time I clean up after your mess!" Edge said, throwing another star at the wind.

The wind kept getting slower and slower until there were about twenty stars in the wind. It fell to the ground. Cecil and Edge went over to the now dead creature.

"What was it?" Cecil asked Edge.

"It's a Roc's Avenger." A voice said from the other side of the hill.

Cecil and Edge ran to the other side of the hill and saw Kain, conscious.

"Kain!" Cecil exclaimed with utter delight. "You're alive!"

"Yeah, I know. You actually think, me, would die? I am the bravest warrior alive!" Kain laughed a hearty laugh.

"Well, considering that you're chained to a wall with deep gashes in your neck and previously unconscious, I think it was a safe assumption!" Cecil told his friend.

"How did you know to find me here?" Kain asked Cecil.

"Yeah, good question." Edge said.

"You told me so. You connected with me through your mind." Cecil told.

"No, I didn't. And where's Rosa? And Rydia? I figured that they would follow you here, no?" Kain asked another question.

Suddenly, a rumble, and the hill with the adamant feel deep within the cave, causing a great hole. Within it, they could hear shouts for Rydia and Rosa.

"I bet that they're down there!" Kain said as he jumped in. Cecil and Edge soon followed. ==============================================================================
CHAPTER 8: SACRAFICE ==============================================================================
Led by Sabin, the returners ventured to where Figaro castle once stood, now submerged in sand.

"And, suddenly," Sabin continued the story, "the rain suddenly stopped and the castle submerged just like that, with all the monsters retreating inside."

"Something happened to Edgar." Celes said. "I can feel it."

"Yes." Terra said. "I can feel an immense magic source within the submerged castle."

"Well, I don't care whether I have to dig my way down there, I'm going to rescue my brother!" Sabin exclaimed as he began to dig in the sand with his claws.

Suddenly, there was another rumble. The earth shook around the returners as Figaro castle rose from the sand.

"Quick!" Locke shouted. "Let's go in!" Locke lead the returners into Figaro castle. All was deserted.

"Geez," the sound of Relm echoed through the castle.

"Edgar!" Mog shouted.

"Ad-gur. Where you?" Umaro followed his masters lead.

Then, they heard it. A laugh so demonic, it could scare the mightiest of warriors, which is exactly what happened to the returners. It came from the throne room.

Sabin, who only wanted to find his brother at this point, busted into the throne room and saw a group of five people there, wearing different colored robes. Edgar was lying on a table, unconscious.

"Slit his chest and pull the heart." The guy dressed in a red robe commanded the guy in the blue robe. The guy in the blue robe picked up a scalpel.

"No!" Sabin said as he jumped onto the blue robe.

"Seize him!" The red robe commanded. "He will make a good sacrifice."

Sabin slashed the blue robe as the others rushed in. The green robe and snapped his fingers, and six-foot long sword materialized in his hand.

"Green hair is part esper, or was..." The black robe warned the others. He was slightly confused. He could sense the esperness in her, but couldn't understand why she had no magic.

Relm picked up the fallen scalpel and slashed the blue robe with it. The blue robe shot out blue blood and fell to the ground.

The green robe swung his sword at Umaro. Umaro grabbed the blade and shook the green robe. Umaro then pulled the blade out of his hands and lunged it at him. The green robe burst, with green blood everywhere.

The purple robe and the black robe were casting off spells. Spells none ever seen before on their planet. The black robe was casting an acid spell. It lunged at Setzer and he was poisioned by the green cloud.

"Nuclear!" The purple robe shouted. A green and yellow mass shot out of his arms and hit Gogo, who gasped for breath. Gogo fell to the ground.

Strago bopped his cane on the red robe's head. The red robe kicked Strago into a wall.

The red robe then cast a spell upon the other alive robes. They grew stronger and more demonic looking.

But before the new robes could do any more damage, Sabin came up behind the black and purple robes and knocked their heads together. Celes finished them off with a jab of her sword.

The only robe left was the red robe. "I have had enough! No one shall distroy the Demon Society!" He cast a spell upon Edgar, and Edgar vanished.

"NO!" Sabin shouted. He lunged onto the Red Robe, but the Red Robe threw an iron orb at him. Sabin stood still, paralized.

Terra unsheathed her sword and charged at the Red Robe, and Mog did the same with his lance. The red robe moved out of the way and let the two hit heads.

Relm began to paint his picture, while Shadow threw a fire skean at the mage. It only made the Robe stronger. Relm finished painting the picture, and the copy hit him, hard.

Locke, whipped out his boomerang and ran over to the robe. He hit him as he stole a blue orb. Locke threw the orb at the red robe. The red robe let out a scream and melted in anguish. Relm and Locke began to pour heal potions on the surviors.

A rumble, shake, sputter. The throne room of the castle began to break away from the rest of the castle, right on the boarders of the room. The room began to plummet down a dark hole. The returners let out a scream of terror. ==============================================================================
I LEAVE YOU HERE, RIGHT HERE IN THIS CRITICAL POINT. IS THE DEMON SOCIETY REALLY DEAD? WHAT'S HAPPENIG THAT PLANET? WHAT ABOUT EDGAR, ROSA, AND RYDIA? HOW COULD KING GUARDIA FORSEE THE DEMON SOCIETY THAT EXSISTS IN WORLDS APART? STAY TUNED!

---> SCENES FROM PART 2: UNIFACATION <---

"No!" Sabin shouted as Edgar slashed him with his sword

"Who is Rolst?" Cecil asked.

"King Guardia!" Crono watched in horror as blood drew from the king in great amounts.

Mog slapped Lucca right on the face. Umaro followed suit.
